There is no legal limitation preventing foreign children from attending a Korean school if they have an Alien Registration Certificate. However, most foreigners send their children to foreign schools. In Seoul, there are many foreign schools. Parents are advised to visit schools before making their choice.
 
Foreign Schools
  Most schools require students to have a foreign passport and a certain qualification for entrance. The following are the better-known foreign schools in Seoul.
 
1. Yongsan International School of Seoul (YISS)
 
Opening: Aug. 17, 2006
Grade Levels: Kindergarten ~ Grade 12
Land Area: 23,260 sq. m.

2. Early Childhood Learning Center (Montessori School)
 
Qualification: A foreign passport and alien registration certificate.
At least one parent must have a foreign passport.
Entry age: 30 months to 6 years of age.
Curriculum: Montessori curriculum.

Qualification: A foreign passport, a foreign immigration document
